Bossa started as a shared dream between us, a way to bring the rhythm, culture, and flavors of Brasil to the city we love.
As a couple with roots in both places, we have always lived at the intersection of two cultures. Since the beginning of our relationship, we’ve shared Brazilian food, music, and traditions with our friends, creating moments where people from different backgrounds came together around our table. Over time, we realized how meaningful those gatherings were, not just for us, but for everyone who experienced them.
We wanted to create something that felt personal and genuine: a space shaped by Brazilian hospitality and Portland creativity. A place where people feel welcomed and cared for, where culture is shared openly, not held back. Bossa is our way of honoring the beauty of Latin American heritage and creating a home where resilience, joy, and connection can thrive.
Part of our dream is to build a space for Portland’s Brazilian community as well, a place to celebrate, gather, and feel at home. What began among friends in our own home is now growing into something bigger: a space where people can meet, connect, and experience the warmth that inspired Bossa in the first place.
FROM BRASIL TO PORTLAND
Our café and cocktail bar is coming soon, but the journey begins with coffee. We roast Brazilian beans from small, sustainable farms, and they are available online now, so you can experience a little bit of Bossa at home while we create the space to welcome you in.
When Bossa opens, you can expect freshly roasted Brazilian coffee, warm pão de queijo, açaí bowls, tapiocas, and a selection of fresh pastries and desserts. In the evenings, the space will shift into a cozy cocktail bar with caipirinhas, music, and DJ nights inspired by Brazilian nightlife. We will collaborate with local and Latin artists to fill the space with music, culture, and community.
